The African-American community lost a great comedian this week. Mr. Anthony “AJ” Johnson passed away. He was known for his roles in the “Friday” movies franchises. Comedian AJ Johnson had accumulated Fame within our community but he apparently did not acquire a well-managed fortune.

AJ‘s wife was reportedly seeking assistance with the funeral cost for AJ‘s services. At one point a Go Fund Me was created to capture the donations of the public to help fulfill this request.

Despite the many laughs we gave AJ for his performances, the comedian on the screen, had someone behind the scenes who was not giving him proper financial advice, management, and guiding him to build financial security for his family .

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month. If we learned nothing else from this month in 2021, we should learn that life insurance is a wealth protection plan; It is not a burial plan. Yes we use some of the proceeds to help with funeral cost, but the ultimate goal of life insurance is to help maintain financial stability within your family. Now that we see AJ‘s wife requesting assistance for funeral costs, what will she have for her and her family to live on?
